Tunich is located on the Jungle Side of the Beach Road in the Hotel Zone in Tulum. The Cabanas are directly across the street from a free public entrance to the beach. Once on the beach, you will have the option to put your towel down and enjoy the sun & sea or take a chair at our neighbors beach club located on the beach. (Minimum consumption may apply) There are many restaurants, beach clubs and shops located within a short bike or taxi from the property. Tulum Town is about a 10 minute drive from our property. All rooms feature free wifi, a private 3-piece bathroom and a patio space in front with chairs and/or a hammock. The rooms are basic & rustic as we try to offer a great, safe location at a fair price considering how expensive it is to rent a room on the beach road in Tulum these days. Potheads Restaurant is in front of the cabanas & serves all-day brunch from 7 am to 7 pm. Tunich Jungle Cabañas can help guests with arrangements for sightseeing and other activities including the Tulum ruins, cenotes or trips as requested.

Positive: Good location, beautiful landscaping, comfortable beds and nice breakfast
Negative: Rats from the jungle literally chewed up US$105 - if the staff had told us we would not have had this happen to us - when we asked them about the rat problem they stated they had just had the place fumigated the prior day. The staff was aware - they should have had a metal box to keep passports and money in. A blanket and beach towels were given to us on request - given this is a beach accommodation it would have been reasonable to have had beach towels in the room - and given that we had to have the fans on due to the mosquitos - there should have been a warm blanket in the room - it was January and it gets very cold with the fan on. And if only there were maybe two slices of bread/toast ( there was one slice of toast cut in half) for breakfast and they could have told us that there was a choice between scrambled eggs and fried eggs and coffee/tea/hot chocolate (they did not have even normal black tea and the hot chocolate was Luke warm without any sugar. Well - it is called hot chocolate) and my husband has milk in his coffee - we had to ask for a little milk for his coffee every day and it took a long time to get that.
