Enter this 3 bedroom, 4 bath home through the front door to the open foyer on the 3rd of 5 levels. A bedroom featuring a queen bed and a full bath with shower is located on this level. A staircase leads up to the 4th level bedroom with king bed, and a full bath with shower. A winding staircase, located in this bedroom, leads you to a sitting tower. From the entry level, head down the staircase which leads to a fully stocked kitchen. The kitchen is open to the family room featuring a wall of windows overlooking beautiful Cayuga Lake. The dining room and sun porch are located just off the family room making this a perfect place for casual dining. The master bedroom, just off the kitchen, offers a king sized bed. This bedroom features a full bath with a tub/shower and French doors that open to a semi-private deck. The fourth full bath is located on the lower level.
Expansive decking, nice gardens, and a nice, gradual lakefront makes this property a scenic and serene retreat.
Our home is located approximately 18 miles from one of the Finger Lakes most beautiful and diverse cities, Ithaca, NY. We are located one mile off of the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Visit the Ithaca, Buttermilk, Treman, or Taughannock Falls; tour the Cornell Plantations or enjoy some wine or micro-brewery tastings. In downtown Ithaca you will find an outdoor pedestrian mall with plenty of restaurants, cafes and specialty shops.
Other thing you should know:
We are a bring your own sheets and towels home. We provide clean duvets, blankets, shams, pillow covers, kitchen towels, tablecloths, throw blankets, hand towels and entry rugs and wash these between each group. This makes it impossible for us to also wash sheets and towels. I had problems early on when I offered laundry service with stains on the sheets and towels, those items disappearing and having to stress about having matching sets of things, and a lot of other challenges. I used a linen service at one time but the linens were just awful and not worth what the company was charging. If each person brings a towel set and a beach towel and each couple brings one sheet set that's all it takes! We do have backup available and you are welcome to use these items if you agree to wash, dry, fold and return them upon departure. The main beds are two kings and a queen. Please feel free to ask about additional sleep space. If this is a deal breaker, I can consider laundering sheets and towels for an additional $200 per stay on a limited basis with notice. So feel free to check about that.
Kayaks and canoe are seasonally cleaned by May 15 weather permitting. Kayaks and canoes are not swept between guests. Shop vac is available for guest use if spider webs are noted on these items. Chairs and tables are wiped and decks blown weekly between May 1-October 15. Weather may produce plant material before or during your stay after we have done this cleaning.
The 4th bedroom on the lower level can be made available upon request for an additional $100 per night. The lower level does not have air conditioning but is built into the earth on the east wall so stays naturally cooler than the rest of the house. A fan is available. Please let me know if you need this additional bedroom.
Additional guests over the 6 automatically allowed can be considered upon request for $50 per person per night. Please inquire if requested.
Early 2023 notes:
Our dock was replaced in the last year or two. Our lower deck (which runs parallel to the water and has steps that lead to the dock was slated to be replaced in the fall of 2021 and then spring of 2022 and then fall of 2022, but has been pushed back again due to challenges with our contractors' staff and schedule as well as the contraints of our guest bookings. This lower deck is slated for replacement during weekdays in March/April of 2023. So be aware that if you rent during March or April 2023 that deck may be disrupted. It will be my goal throughout this project to maintain access to the waterfront however this cannot be guaranteed at all times during March and April.
The other delayed improvement is the hookup of our high speed internet. This was supposed to happen fall of 2021, then spring 2022, then summer 2022, and at this point I am not even guessing. We are at the mercy of the town and the provider that they contracted with to lay the wires. I will update the listing when it is installed. For now, we continue to have the very less than optimal satellite internet. This is NOT reliable for work or streaming unfortunately.
