Positive: very secure for young children. Plenty of kitchenware. good quality bed linen. Spacious sitting room.
Negative: our welcome was so poor that, had we been able to, I think we would have headed back to the airport. My sons and their families (with 4 tired little children) had flown in on the only flight from the UAE. The UAE is an enormous market for European holidays but I would suggest that they give this villa a miss. I had asked in advance if they could at least sit in the shade under the veranda or allow the kids to cool off in the pool as they were going to arrive an hour before 4pm check in time. This was point blank refused by the manager and I was given a lecture on “adhering to rules”. So 4 adults and 4 little kids had to stand in a narrow lane outside the locked gates for more than an hour in the blazing sun. I was appalled at such unsympathetic treatment, but there was no way in until bang on 4pm when the massive gate was unlocked. There was no reason for this other than spite!!!!. For 10 days we had blocked drains in the kitchen which smelt dreadful. Unsuccessful attempts were made to fix the problem for most of our holiday until a new team was brought in. Finally, the a/c in one of the bedrooms noisily leaked so persistently that it soaked 3 bath towels every night. I was told that the problem would not be fixed until the end of the season…. so good luck if you are planning to stay there.
