Welcome to Louisville’s Urban Alternative Homestead! This 1700 sq ft single-family home was built in 1900 and converted in the late 1970’s to a self-sustaining, urban homestead through a federal grant. Recently restored and upgraded with all the modern amenities, offering 3 bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to 8 guests. The extra-large living area and kitchen are perfect for hanging out. The greenhouse is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening beverage in the spring or fall. We also have a fully fenced, private backyard complete with seating area and fire pit for you to enjoy.
Conveniently located in the Phoenix Hill /NULU section of downtown Louisville, we are within walking distance to The River Front, Restaurants, Downtown Hospitals as well as a few Bourbon Distilleries and Breweries. We are a mile from the Frazier History Museum, which is the official start to The Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The Kentucky International Convention Center is a mile and half away. 5-10 minute drive to SDF airport, The YUM! Center, University of Louisville, The Fair Grounds/Expo Center, Churchill Downs, Kentucky Kingdom, The Highlands, Fourth Street Live, The Louisville Botanical Gardens, The Louisville Zoo or even Southern Indiana.
