Casa Curativa is a permaculture forest haven with winding stone paths, colorful fruit trees and perennial herbs. We specialize in herbal medicine and operate a community apothecary on the land. We are a family-friendly community of mostly long-term residents, alongside a few short-term rental accommodations.
All our offerings include the use of community spaces, including a covered yoga shala, fire circle, temazcal (sauna), and spring-fed pool area that the guests are welcome to use.
Casa Curativa is just over the river from Tzununá town center. When you check in you will be given a key to your accommodation, as well as keys to the entrances of the property. Tuk tuks are available for pick up and drop off between the hours of 6am - 9:30pm. We have safe parking spots available on-sight, please let us know ahead of time if you will need to use one for your vehicle.
We operate an Herbal Apothecarybusiness from within the property, so one of us is usually always here at any time. We can exchange numbers upon your arrival, and we are always available to answer questions over the phone. Guests are welcome to join group yoga sessions or other class offerings on our yoga platform if they are happening.
Our neighborhood is residential and wooded, which means that it is quiet and peaceful. We live on a dirt road, and our property is fenced in on all sides. Our neighborhood is in the lower valley of Tzununá, just across the river from town center.
Take a scenic 10 minute walk down to the lake shore, or a 10 minute walk up to Granja Tzikin or Gaia Temple in the upper valley of Tzununá.
We have three entrances; the main one is accessible by car, and the two lower entrances are along the river, and a 5-minute walk will get you to town center.
We have parking spaces available just inside the main entrance so you may safely park your vehicle. The entire property is fenced and secured.
Tzununá is a burgeoning hot spot on Lake Atitlan, and the little village is developing quickly.
Granja Tzikin, a permaculture garden and farm-to-table restaurant, is a fun spot to catch a drink and a bite any day of the week. They host live music every Friday night, as well as a Saturday BBQ featuring local meats.
Café Nuna is a small restaurant and bar with weekly events such as movie night, and they host an open mic every Sunday evening. They have a unique menu of mouth-watering delights.
Balam is a delicious food stand owned and operated by indigenous Mayans. The restaurant facade is small and unassuming, but they also offer delivery service, and to-go orders are wrapped in banana leaves and compostable packaging.
