The Gallant Pad guest room with bath is a renovation of a garage so its large with high ceilings. It is designed to provide living, dining and sleeping areas all in one room. The dining area is equipped with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and seating for 2. For sleeping there is a king size bed. A six foot tall mirror and antique armoire make up the dressing area. There is a couch and 47"TV for lounging. The adjoining bath has a shower. Guests to the Gallant Pad can expect privacy and relative quiet. The house is at the end of a street that actually ends at the driveway so there is no pedestrian or street traffic passing by. Guests have their own entrance to the house and with self check-in, need not ever interact with the Host in person. Most people enjoy that aspect of the rental. Although uber is available, we suggest you have a car for ease of movement. Guests will park in the driveway directly in front of the entrance to their rental. We have all the usual stores within a five minute drive of the house: Walgreens, CVS, Target, Kroger, Starbucks etc. are "right up the way" along with the fast food stores and "Krispy Kreme". You will have your own private space and will not be interrupted during your stay. However, please be aware that there are two rooms in this part of the house. The Lavendar Loft is upstairs and the Gallant Pad is on the first floor so it is possible that you will meet other guests in passing. We will respond quickly, especially of you use the Airbnb message app. Please feel free to also text, email or call. I grew up in Thunderbolt. It was an old fishing community with a marina for the shrimp boats and Tassy’s Pier which was a restaurant right on the water. Time brings about a change and Johnson Marine has the pier. Waterfront condos sit on the marina. But Thunderbolt still has its quiet residential streets with large oak trees and plenty of azalea bushes. Set on the intercoastal waterway it has lovely waterfront parks and public boat slips. It's between downtown Savannah and the islands leading to the beach. The house is located at the end of a short street, so when walking you kind of emerge into the neighborhood from your private retreat when you get to the top of the road. The rental is a short walk from Tubby’s, a lively seafood restaurant near the waterfront. There are several other restaurants within walking distance (Coaches Corner, Chiriya's Thai Cuisine, etc.) All the usual retail stores, Target, Home Depot, Walgreens, Chick-Fil-A, Krogers and Starbucks are not even a 3 minute drive away. Also, there are 2 gas stations right down the street. You can easily uber/lyft anywhere from the rental to Savannah or the islands but we suggest you have a vehicle in order to travel easily. From the Pad the beach is a 12 to 15minute drive. Downtown is a 10 minute drive.
