Built on a spectacular location on a 49-meter-high cliff above the sea, the historic centre is home to countless monuments, buildings and churches. In the Vrbnik town centre, you will discover many interesting historical sites, cosy cafés, wine taverns and restaurants. During a tour of the center, you will embark on some kind of time travel, exploring a labyrinth of old alleys with stone houses and discovering fabulous viewpoints of the coast. Moreover, in the old town, there are fine stores where you can try regional specialities such as the famous regional white wine Zlahtina.
Interesting are also the many churches and museums. Especially recommended is the library in the former prince’s house, where one is amazed by valuable paintings as well as by ancient documents. A worth-seeing attraction is the parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with its freestanding Renaissance church tower from Venetian times, which can be seen from far away.
