About this space--
Room for the whole family in this quiet, private and comfortable home. Our home is a traditional Maine Cape, which we built in 1998, with a large yard and deck. Attractive gardens surround the house which is nestled in the woods. An in-ground pool is available from June thru August. This is a perfect location to rest and relax with the entire family. We are located 21 miles from Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park.
The space
We have a large, well equipped kitchen as well as a large dining and living room for a comfortable retreat. The deck faces the east so you can enjoy a beautiful sunrise, or morning sun with your cup of coffee. You can also keep an eye on the kids in the pool with patio and lawn furniture within the fenced in pool area. A full size washer/dryer is located in the downstairs bathroom. The single bedroom has a desk set-up and can be used as a small office if you wish.
Guest access
There is plenty of parking at the house for 5 cars. The house is located on a short gravel road conveniently located about halfway between Ellsworth and Bangor. Restaurants and stores available in either location. A nice little grocery store, donut shop, pizza place is located about 6 miles away in Holden.
Other things to note
There is an attached apartment and garage, with separate, private entrance, which is not part of the rental and in which our son and his wife live. The internet in this part of Maine is sufficient for typical office use (if you must work) and some video streaming but will not be “Uberfast”. Weather might affect the Wi-Fi at times as it is a Starlink system
