This two-story boasts both scenery and convenience, beautifully situated on the western bank of the river and the resort side of Wallowa Lake. The Wallowa Lake Tramway, Matterhorn Village, and Wallowa Lake State Park (home to a beach, picnic areas, great fishing spots, and a seasonal marina with watercraft rentals) are all within a half-mile stroll. The picturesque town of Joseph is an easy, six-mile drive across the lake as well.
Whether your plans involve hiking the Eagle Cap Wilderness or fishing for trout and Kokanee, the back patio provides a wonderful spot to reconvene after a day of adventure. Get the gas grill going for an afternoon barbecue, set the picnic table for dinner, and sit down at sunset with the river trickling in the background.
The interior is equally inviting after a day spent skiing Ferguson Ridge, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or snowmobiling at Salt Creek Summit Sno-Park.
