New to the rental market and completely renovated! This cozy and modern 1 BR cottage is perfect for couples or a small family looking for a quiet and relaxing get away. Sitting on an acre wooded lot high atop the east side of Canandaigua Lake near Bare Hill, this rental offers guests the comforts and amenities of home combined with the privacy and serenity of a remote mountain cabin. Wake up and raise the adjustable pillowtop bed to take in the morning lake views or sip your coffee looking out the giant picture window in the sunken living room. Step outside and listen to the birds chirping while sitting on the patio or deck. Spend the day on the lake kayaking, paddle boarding or swimming from the dock or even renting a boat at a local marina. Explore the nearby hiking trails at High Tor, or check out the local shops and restaurants in Naples or Canandaigua. Take in a concert at CMAC, which is only 15 minutes away. You will be 15 minutes from downtown Canandaigua, 20 minutes from Naples, 30-40 minutes from the wineries along the west side of Keuka Lake and just steps from the lake itself. After your days full of adventure - you can relax and unwind around the outdoor fire pit and admire the beautiful sunset. Inside offers a smart tv with netflix, along with puzzles, board games, books and a beautiful newly updated kitchen for cooking and socializing. The kitchen island has seating for 4 with another two stools at the countertop bar area that looks into the living room and out the picture window. The leather power recliner is a comfortable spot for relaxing and reading. A 3 burner Weber grill will give you a great way to cook up the fish you catch or some steaks from Wegmans (which is only 15 minutes away). The house has a mini split AC/Heat system that keeps it cool in the summer and warm during the colder months.
Below the house and down the stairs to the lake, we have a small boathouse where you’ll find two sit on top kayaks, two stand up paddle boards, paddles, life jackets for all sizes and plenty of chairs for everyone to enjoy the lake. Canandaigua Lake is very clean and great for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The boathouse has a mini fridge for beverages. This spring we added a brand new dock with ladder and a spot to dock a boat.
PLEASE NOTE - the driveway has been improved this spring! It is still gravel, but the grades are not as steep and fresh gravel/millings have been placed and compacted, as well as a parking area at the bottom of the hill. It can still be a challenge, but it's better than it was! There are several options to get down the driveway, including backing down and driving back up, and the other being to walk down. We still do not recommend driving down if you don't have 4WD. It’s about a 50 yard walk down and back up when you leave if the slope is too intimidating for you to drive. There is a hand cart/wagon provided to help with your things. There are also steps to get down to the lake from the house - 94 of them to be exact. We would not recommend this property to someone who doesn't get around well or younger children, as it is challenging. Also since it's in a wooded area on the lake - there are some bugs and spiders. We have pest control spray for them, but you might see some during your stay. For security and safety reasons, we have a camera on the exterior rear side of the house.
