The contemporary-cottage designed space with local artworks and a mixture of furnishings forge a cheerful atmosphere within this artists studio guesthouse. Brew a cup of tea and make your breakfast or dinner in the full kitchen. Unwind on the quite private deck, or find a shady seat at the foot of the birch tree before starting or ending your day.
Our home and it's artists studio guesthouse are arranged on a hilltop property spanning 6.5 acres of scenic landscape and wide open sky views that display an ever changing canvas of colors for year round vistas. The tranquil setting is surrounded by nature and a variety of wildlife, birds and charming backyard critters. Travel a half mile down our country road to a public access on the shores of Torch Lake or another half mile to Alden to discover why the little village is a must-visit for boating enthusiasts, historians, and visitors shopping for art, antiques, locally milled spices, ice cream, wine and other Northern Michigan delights. Nature enthusiasts will love the property itself and also it's short distance to Coy Mountain and Grass River nature preserves as well as Shanty Creek Resort and Short's Brewery.
The Space:
Newly remodeled space that serves as both a guesthouse and artists studio. Totally private self-contained guesthouse with full kitchen, vaulted ceiling, propane fireplace/stove, one bathroom and one bedroom. The bedroom has two twin sized single beds that can be arranged separately or joined together as a king sized bed (beds will be arranged to your preference prior to arrival, we use high quality twin/king converter kits for our guests comfort). There is a full size futon (with a 2” memory foam mattress topper) in the living room for an additional family member or friend. Room divider curtains/shades in the living room insure a good nights sleep and allow more privacy. Additionally there are light blackout curtains/shades on the entry doors, enabling guests to block out more light within the area. The overhead loft space is for owners use only. Animal companions (house pets under 20 lbs. and horses) are welcome for a one time fee.
Upon entering the driveway marked with our entrance sign "Sisters Studio", pass the barn and main house and follow to the rear private studio guesthouse.
