.Once called Southwind Morelos, we are now called Casa Toucan. We have recently completed a great deal of upgrading to our vacation home to enhance your stay. We retiled our pool in a beautiful turquoise color with a colorful, huge Toucan hand tiled on the floor. This gives a uniqueness to our pool and also the idea for the more suitable name change.to Casa Toucan. We resurfaced the walkway surrounding the pool to a nice clean finish. We painted the exterior of the house, added lighting and fan in the ceiling outside on the corridor, all window and door screens have been replaced, protectors painted, and have an authentic wood burning pizza oven where we make delicious pizza.. We added a large luxurious bathroom upstairs, retiled and finished the other two bathrooms. The queen size bedroom, the monkey room and kitchen now have a/c. Please use with respect to the high cost of power.
Our property managers, Bruno and Dulce will take excellent care of you and offer many different services., some of which are line up airport pickup, have groceries in the fridge for your arrival, arrange a personal chef, tours.. Once you book I will arrange for them to contact you and help you with anything you need.to make your vacation stress free, fun and relaxing.
Enjoy your complimentary welcome basket as well as a package of coffee, bottle of wine and a large sack of carbon to get you started grilling.
You will find that our kitchen is very well equipped with a gas stove /oven, full size stainless steel fridge, wide variety of dishes, silverware, glasses, cooking utensil, pots, pans, ninja blender, deep fryer, 4 slice toaster, coffee grinder, 12 cup coffee maker, tea kettle, electric hand mixer, cutco knives, margaritaville, and juicers for fresh squeezed orange and lime juice, to mention a few. The spices and some oils are also for your use and you will find a few pantry items for your convenience. We just ask that you please try and replace what you use in the pantry so it is there for our next guests convenience as well.
In our back room there is a washer, dryer, beverage fridge, deepfreeze and 3 coolers for your use when you go to purchase groceries or head to the beach! Those who prefer the fresh scent of laundry hung on a clothesline, there is on our our back door. Extra toilet is in the back room and a full bathroom is beside the stairs.
On our coffee table, is a binder filled with helpful information in and around the house, restaurant suggestions and phone numbers, things to see and do, brochures and maps of Puerto Morelos, the small, yet busy, fishing village by the ocean. The spacious living room has a comfy area to relax, a 55inch flat screen TV, DVD/VHS player, bose speaker, Ipod dock, selection of movies, books, games word search, ping pong net to attach to a table, toys and coloring for kids.
The pool and beach towels are in the basket near the entry and the beach bag is for your use. Charge up your cell phones on the shelf in the corner. The power bar is attached underneath the shelf for multiple items.
Up the curved stairs, we have four bedrooms. The primary and second bedroom have new king mattresses, the other room a queen and the kids room a double and single bed. A full size bay crib is available upon request. Each Bedroom has closets with hangers, drawers and shelves as well as live wood shelf for your personal items. There are two beautiful full bathrooms with walk in showers. The large terraza is a perfect spot to lounge in the evenings after a fun filled day, sipping on a cocktail and admire a peaceful, starry night overlooking the lit up yard and pool...maybe have a late night swim!
We deeply care about your safety and you having a fabulous vacation and will do our very best to make your stay a very memorable one, with you wanting to come back!
You will find individually wrapped, natural, handcrafted bath bars, hand sanitizer and some chemical free, cleaning items for your use while you stay with us. Our house has keypad with deadlock entry .
Our wonderful caretakers Bruno and Dulce will meet you and lead you to our home. They will give you a gate key, code to the house, and will show you around and ensure you are comfortable by answering any questions you might have.

Often you you see the spider monkeys swinging in the trees. They are stopping to eat the fruit off the zapote trees. As for advid birdwatchers, it has been noted that we have over 65 different species of birds in the jungle. You are likely to see Toucans, parrots , Parakeets, Orioles, hummingbirds, pale billed woodpecker, and my favorite the turquoise Mot Mot plus so many more .
Our house is located on hwy Ruta de Los Cenotes at km 15.5.
It’s just a minute drive to cenote Boca del Puma which offers ziplines, 2 cenotes, rock climbing and quads., Cenote Verdes la Cerde is 3
minutes up the road, Selvatica, Kin Ha and so many more just minutes away .A 5 minute walk from our house is a Jungle Spa Los Colibries. It is a must for a truly unique and professionally handled experience. Come on back from your excursions and jump in the pool.
The small village of Central Vallarta is also within walking distance. It has a lot of history. There is a corner store with a few staples and they offer hamburgers, fries and a couple other items.
Directions to Casa Toucan
From Cancun, go south on Hwy.#307 to Puerto Morelos, stay to your right.
Keep going straight through until you come to the end of the town. There is a sign on your right, Central Vallarta and a main turn off to la Ruta de los Cenote. Turn Right .Follow this hwy for 15.5 kms. We are just past the second entrance to Central Vallarta and by a curve. If you look to your left you will see a brown sign with white letters Leon Global Market. We are just a few feet past. There is a Casa Toucan sign on a palm tree, as well as our gates. Our lane is winding for 200 metres. You will come to green gates with a Mexican and Canadian flag. You've made it!
