Our modern, yet cozy, remodeled 1970's ranch is located on picturesque Jarrell Cove with an incredible view of the marina. We have the best spot on the cove with a unique 180 degree water view from almost every window in the house.
We often call the house the "Harstine Healing House" because life just slows down and you remember to read a book, bake some bread, stargaze or watch the birds, seals and otters at play or just enjoy a beverage in the many well-appointed indoor and outdoor areas. Families and friends connect and make the best memories without the distractions of normal life. The Harstine House is the perfect place to relax and reset. The house is truly wonderful year round. In the warmer months, grill and enjoy meals on the outdoor patio, kayak in the cove, read in the hammock, or sip a glass of wine on the deck. In the winter months, cook and bake in the incredible, gourmet kitchen, do puzzles, take naps in the extremely comfy beds, go hiking on the nearby trails or just cuddle up on the massive sofa with a book or movie by the fire.
Due to proximity of the water and many spots in the yard with no gates, etc over the cove, we discourage children under the age of 3 to stay at the house.
Main spaces:
The modern, open floor plan boasts two living rooms with gas fireplaces. One is the perfect spot to have an intimate cocktail hour, work on a puzzle or read a book. The other is more of a lounging living room with a giant sectional sofa and a 75 inch TV (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, HBO Max are all available). The gorgeous and spacious dining room allows for all of the guests to have views of the cove.
Our kitchen has everything you could want to prepare a gourmet feast: JennAir appliances, including a double convection oven, six burner stove and extra large refrigerator, a Vitamix, KitchenAid mixer and all the table/ servingware you'll need. A complete list of kitchen items is provided for you prior to your arrival so you will know what to expect. The kitchen is a dream to cook in!
The entire house is decorated with vintage rugs, lush plants and curios we have collected through the years. Enjoy listening to your own music through our Sonos system set up in 4 locations throughout the house.
The primary bedroom has a king-sized bed, french doors with cove views, a small deck, and an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower and double sinks.
The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed, wardrobe, french doors onto a deck with cove views, and a small room attached with a desk and daybed, perfect for an afternoon nap.
The third bedroom is a detached studio located about 20 yards from the main house with a queen-sized bed and wardrobe. **Please note that you need to walk outside to access the studio bedroom and it does not have a bathroom. There is a lit path from the studio to the house (see photo) It's a very private and relaxing space.
There are quite a few outdoor spaces to enjoy: a large patio with stainless outdoor kitchen, gas grill and large dining table with umbrella, a spacious deck off the kitchen/dining area, a hammock area, and a second patio with sun loungers off the two bedrooms. We have a ping pong table for outdoor use, two paddle boards and two kayaks.
The cove is tidal, so check tide charts for water activities. Please respect our neighbors and keep noise to a minimum after 10 pm. This house is not a party house.
Guests have complete access to the house and outdoor areas. There is plenty of onsite parking.
