Summary: I had an incredible stay at Pier House during my recent trip to Funchal. I actually ended up staying here three times over the course of the trip, which says it all. Andre was an excellent host — genuinely kind, welcoming, and always helpful. He really made the experience feel personal and comfortable. The rooms were fantastic — spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. I had some of the best nights’ sleep here, which is exactly what you want after long days exploring and hiking. The location is unbeatable. You’re right in the heart of Funchal, yet it’s not loud or overwhelming. Everything is on your doorstep — the pier, the old town, the cathedral, shops, restaurants — you simply couldn’t ask for better. I honestly cannot recommend Pier House highly enough. I’ll absolutely be staying here again when I return to Madeira for more hiking.
