Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The property is very well equipped, clean and tidy and the welcome gifts were a lovely gesture. The position of the lodge means it is very private and secluded. There is an allocated parking space near the property. The WiFi signal is good and the tv gets lots of channels. The owners have provided a comprehensive book to help with your stay and there are many leaflets etc if you need ideas for a day out. The location is very good for visiting all the attractions in West Cornwall. Praa Sands itself is a very quiet village but the beach is beautiful. It’s possible to hire water sports equipment to make the most of it, also there are a lot of walks along the coast.
Negative: The gardens desperately need a cut back. The abundance of vegetation surrounding the Lodge means that there is actually no sea (or indeed river) view despite one being advertised. You are just looking at foliage. The parking space is more difficult to use than necessary again because of overgrown plants. The plants attract so many “bugs” and spiders that it was difficult to have any of the windows open so the Lodge was very hot, and sitting out on the decking wasn’t comfortable which was a shame as there were loungers provided in addition to table and chairs, and a bbq.
