Private mountain retreat 3 miles from Lovingston, VA situated halfway between Charlottesville and Lynchburg. Wintergreen resort is just 20 minutes away! There are an abundance of wineries, breweries, distilleries, and orchards within minutes going any direction. A beautiful ,well appointed home on the mountainside where you will enjoy stunning views, great hiking trails, and quiet nights!
The space
One of the most unique houses in the area, you will be greeted by a custom staircase serving multiple living space levels (an upper and lower living room) built with post and beam. For sleeping you will find two queen master bedrooms with en suites and sitting areas as well as a twin bedroom that shares a large bathroom with the living space. The kitchen dining area is an open concept with a side seating area and plenty of space for dining. Outside, a large deck allows for a great shaded gathering space any time of the day.
Guest access
Being in the mountains, you should be prepared for steep terrain. 4WD is not necessary, but access to the primary parking area is up a fairly steep slope on a gravel driveway. Getting around Nelson county requires transportation.
Other things to note
This house is on 96 private acres deep in the woods on the side of Simpson's Mountain. We are located in the midst of many types of creatures...some that stay outside and some that like to come in. While we work very hard to keep the environment controlled with constant routine pest management, it is not unusual to see a ladybug, cricket, or even a spider in the house. You may also run across the occasional snake outdoors. If you have an aversion to any of these things, this place may not be the best suited for you.
