Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Everything lived up to expectations and was of a good standard. The room was clean and bright. It featured air conditioning—a real plus for Marseille in the summer—and the shower and bathroom were clean and convenient. The room also had a nice little balcony. Since it isn't a traditional hotel, standard hotel services aren't available. There is no elevator either (something to keep in mind if you have trouble with stairs or are carrying heavy luggage). The location is convenient—just a couple of minutes' walk to Reformes. Communication with the staff takes place via phone or WhatsApp, though you rarely need to reach out, as door codes and instructions are sent to you in a message.

Negative: There are many negative reviews on Google Maps, most of which mention bedbugs. Upon check-in, I inspected the bed, mattresses, and the room itself but found no bedbugs. There were a few ants in the bathroom, but they were clearly coming in through the balcony door and showed no interest in anything outside the bathroom area. While getting ready in the morning, I found a strange insect on the floor, but it wasn't a bedbug. That said, the building is old and the rooms were converted in a bit of a rush, so I didn't expect absolute sterility and wasn't particularly surprised. There was no table or chairs in the room itself, but there were some on the balcony.
