Welcome to Villa C. Set on a private oceanfront lot with no close neighbors, Villa C has some of the best outdoor spaces on the island, especially the vast oceanfront veranda equipped with hammock, swinging chairs, sofas, beds, and a teak outdoor dining table that can seat 20. This wrap-around veranda faces south with views of both the sunrise and the sunset.
Villa C has access to the Caribbean (which is the leeward side of the island and usually calm) from the back yard via a ladder, cement walkway. There is excellent snorkeling on the reefs right off the back, with a wide variety of reef fish.
A one minute drive from the house is Rainbow Bay beach, which is great for relaxing and also has excellent snorkeling. The excellent restaurant and bar at the Sunset Cove/Rainbow Room is a 5 minute walk from the house.
Enter Villa C in the great room with 25-foot vaulted ceilings. The great room has sweeping views of the Caribbean. This room includes a modern island kitchen finished in stainless steel and fully equipped with a French door refrigerator, gas range and oven, dishwasher, and many options for cooking, including slow cooker, panini maker, deep fryer, and more.
The dining area has seating for six and also enjoys the ocean views. The living area, which also shares the ocean views, is decorated with a nautical theme and has a TV, books, and a few games. The house is furnished throughout with stylish and high quality Restoration Hardware furniture.
The master bedroom has a king bed, ocean view, and an en-suite full bath with a walk-in double headed shower.
The second bedroom also has a queen bed and an ocean view.
The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds and can sleep 4.
All bedrooms have outstanding linens Italian hotel satin stitch.
The second full bath has shower/tub combination and opens to the patio for easy access from the outside on those sandy afternoons.
There are also two outdoor showers for rinsing the salt off after playing in the turquois Caribbean waters.
Amenities include AC throughout, WIFI, a TV with 100’s of DVD’s (but no cable), outdoor showers, washer dryer, gas grill, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler, exercise bike, medicine balls ,bocce game and two ocean kayaks.
House keeper Laura is an excellent cook. Available for dinners. $20 per person, $50 minimum, plus cost of food.
There are three grocery stores within a 5-minute drive: Big Rock, JC Super Discount, and East and Final. Restaurants and bars within a 5 minute drive include The Rainbow Room (walking distance), LeoRose, Delish, Mel’s Takeaway, and The Front Porch.
The main town, Governors Harbour, with more restaurants and stores, is 25 minutes from the house. Governors Harbour Airport is 15 minutes from the house. The much larger North Eleuthera Airport is 35 minutes away.
Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. It has a population of just 8000, and everyone knows everyone. It’s famous for being very safe. The snorkeling and diving on the island are world class. There are many reefs which you can snorkel or dive right from the beach. The fishing is also excellent, because the island is so undeveloped and thinly populated. Bonefishing is very big, as is deep sea fishing and reef fishing. You can fish on your own or hire a guide. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, paddle boards, jet skis, bikes, and scooters. You can have a charter captain take you out for fishing, snorkeling, or diving excursions. There are several popular spots for cliff jumping, including some tame enough for children. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, dozens of beaches, each one unique, some historic churches and 19th century homes, and little villages to explore. There are local tour guides who can show you around.
