Positive: Overall the chalet was perfect, we really enjoyed the stay. It was clean, beautiful and spacious. The air conditionner was a HUGE bonus.
Negative: The owner was very anxious about the jacuzzi water. He pressured us to shower every time before using it so that he wouldn't have to change the water after every guest (if you asked me, he should be changing the water after every guest, it is not hygienic). Nevertheless, we respected his rule and showered before every dip. He warned us that he would be passing by every 48h to add chlorine to the water, he passed by on the Sunday, did his thing and left. On the morning of our check out, we made sure to leave the chalet SPOTLESS, we went above and beyond to clean as much as possible & only leave the minimum for him to do (all he had to do was clean the towels, the linens, the floor and disinfect the surfaces). He arrived very frustrated 10 minutes before check out and began to passive aggressively go through his things and grab his cleaning materials. I asked him when will he be reimbursing me my 500$ deposit to which he angrily replied he was going to charge me 200$ because the jacuzzi water wasn't clean and he needed to change it. I told him that that was in NO way part of the agreement and that we respected his shower rule but after 4 days and 7 people it is normal that the water is no longer clean. Why would I pay for water? I repeated to him that we left the chalet SPOTLESS and that all he had to do was minimal. He started going on about how he normally would never accept a 4 day stay and a party, how he only accepts a minimum of 7 days for families and he "accidentally" accepted my reservation. I told him it was not my fault he accidentally accepted my 4 day stay, and that I was with my family, it was not a party, we were just celebrating because I proposed to my girlfriend. (Might I add that he really liked the proposal idea and even asked if he can share pictures on his Facebook page to encourage others to book his chalet for proposals). He refused to take a look inside and kept rudely walking away from me.
