Welcome to Quiet Cove, a beautiful new home located on Lake James.
Situated on a quiet cove a few minutes off the main channel of Lake James, this custom-built home sleeps 14 people and offers the perfect spot for a family lake vacation, mountain biking weekend or work retreat!
The home is in a gated community and has a lot of room inside and out for your group. The 3600 square foot house includes four bedrooms, a separate bunk bed area, four and a half bathrooms, an open concept custom kitchen (including ice maker for those boat coolers!), large pantry, washer, dryer and two separate family areas to spread your group out. Get an air hockey tournament going or put together a puzzle in the basement recreation space!
Outside includes a screened-in porch area with tv and pass-through window to the kitchen to entertain with ease! Enjoy the cove view with your morning cup of coffee from the large back deck. A propane grill is also included on the back deck. A seven-person hot tub and landscaped wood burning fire pit are located below the back deck. (Please do not leave fires unattended. Our area is known for weather conditions conducive to brush and forest fires. If you build a fire in a fire pit, please extinguish it when you are done.)
The home is lakefront and includes direct access to Lake James. Just follow the signs and walk down to the double-decker dock! (Note: the walk to the lake SLOPES DOWN A HILL). Bring the boat or jet ski and park it at the extra covered slip! On the upper level of the dock, enjoy lunch at the picnic table or soak up the sun in the lounge chairs. Also included in the rental are two stand-up paddle boards, one tandem kayak, two kids kayaks, paddles and life jackets. Note: North Carolina requires anyone younger than 13 to wear a coast guard approved life vest when on a recreational vessel that is underway.
The dock is in a cove, a few minutes off the main channel. It’s the perfect place to relax in the lake on a float or take the paddle boards out! The cove is very quiet and a great spot for swimming without worrying about boat traffic and wakes.
Lake James has been voted the cleanest lake in North Carolina and is perfect for a friends and family getaway. Nearby hiking includes Lake James State Park, Linville Gorge Wilderness, Pisgah National Forest and the Fonta Flora Trail. Lake James State Park offers more than 15 miles of mountain biking trails in the Paddy’s Creek recreation area. After your hike or ride, enjoy a bite or drink at The Bear Creek Marina or Fonta Flora Brewery—Whippoorwill Farm (just minutes from Quiet Cove)!
There are two public boat ramps on the lake located at Hidden Cove and Canal Bridge. Additional kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards can be rented in the state park.

-Loft Area: Kid’s Play Area with mini bean bag toss, children’s books, and a teepee tent
Lower Level
-Bedroom 4: King Size Bed with ensuite bathroom (double vanity, shower, and bathtub)
-Bunk Area: 2 Twin Bunk Beds (four beds total), includes black out curtains
-Rec Area: including air hockey table, game/puzzle table, smart tv
-From this level, you can access the outside to the wood burning fire pit and hot tub (with a built in bluetooth speaker!
Guests also have access to the Community Clubhouse with outdoor POOL (Open from Memorial Day through Labor Day) and a FIRE PIT!
Driveway/Parking: Parking is limited at the property. The driveway can fit up to 6 cars. Do not exceed the maximum cars allowed. There is no on-street parking, parking on the grass or parking additional vehicles at the pool (unless using the pool). The driveway is steep and could be slippery in rare icy or snowy conditions. Reach out to discuss boat trailer parking.
Quiet Cove Rules:
-NO PARTIES OR EVENTS ALLOWED. If you intend to come and party, rent somewhere else. We are SERIOUS about protecting our properties so they will be perfect for our owners and responsible guests.
-QUIET HOURS ARE FROM 10 PM - 8 AM.
-No people above the number allowed/rented for at any time.
-This house is located in a residential community and must abide by community rules including noise, parking and common area use.
-NO PETS ALLOWED.
-NO smoking or vaping of ANY kind.
-NO GLASS WHILE USING THE HOT TUB.
-Fires only allowed in the fire pit and must be extinguished when vacating fire pit area. Please also check for local burn bans as our area is prone to wildfires.
-No tent or RV camping on property.
-Rental does not include use of our boat, jet ski, or lily pad located at dock.
-Must be at least 25 years old to rent.
-Based on North Carolina Commission Laws, we are required to send you a rental agreement after booking with us
