Summary: Property in decline. From what I overheard its for sale. Elevators do not work. The signs would indicate its been that way for some time. Paint peeling. Holes in railings and larger holes in wood stair steps that are mandatory as elevators not working. Staff is mixed bag. Check in guy was terrific. I asked for an upgrade and he called me within the hour to advise he had done just that with a view! When we checked in after dark the front desk girl sent us to the far end of the property up 4 flights of stairs with luggage trailing because she misread the room number. UGH! Rooms are upscale, clean, bathrooms nice, bedding ok. The biggest issue in the summer even in Monterrey is NO ac. I asked the helpful front desk man the next day about that. He claimed the owner doesn't say it has AC so its not considered deceptive, supposedly. IT IS deceptive as I cant ever recall a 3.4-4 star rated hotel without AC. That should be disclosed up front and as its not it should totally disqualify everything else about this property. I asked how they handle unhappy and overly WARM customers who complain about NO AC. He replied they wave the 20 something parking fee which is pathetic for the property is on the mid-higher end. Everything is not as it seems. Customer be aware.
