The oceanfront Manager's Cottage offers 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. With 4,300 sq. ft. of space on 2 floors, this lovely Craftsman-style lodge has been lovingly restored, while remaining true to the heritage of Hawaii's plantation era. Built in1923 it was the home of the manager of the once-thriving sugar cane plantation and dairy.
The Manager's Cottage features a large living room, intimate den, formal dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a large outdoor covered lanai facing the ocean with a dining table that seats 10, gas BBQ grill, and classic patio furniture. The carport is suitable for two cars and houses a washer and dryer as well. One of the most-loved features of the home is the 100-foot-tall Banyan tree on the lawn just to the side of the house.
The interior is graced with comfortable Hawaii-style furnishings and unique objects from plantation times. Bedrooms are on both floors. Some bedrooms have the classic built-ins storage bureaus and closets common to Craftsman-style homes.
While there are 50+ other cottages on the resort, the Manager's Cottage is set apart in the near center of the resort surrounded by garden areas, green lawns, and unobstructed ocean views. This lovely home hosts many multi-generational families staying together, convivial wedding parties, and friends vacationing as a group.
The 43-acre Waimea Plantation resort meanders along a 2-mile-long black-sand, walking beach. Guests of the Manager's House have access to all resort amenities. Amenities include front desk check-in, housekeeping upon request with 24-hour notice, oceanfront pool, sand volleyball court, shuffleboard court, complimentary DVD player in cottage with recently released movies picked up in the lobby, on-property restaurant, hammocks placed near the beach for being lazy or watching the magnificent sunsets.
Close by to the road to Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park with stunning vistas along the roadside observation sites, miles of hiking paths and visitor’s center featuring the history of this area of Kauai.
Walk or drive into Waimea Town with its eclectic eateries, shopping, and self-guided, walking history tour. A10-minute drive from quaint Hanapepe Town with world-class art galleries, famous swinging bridge, boutiques and restaurants. To the west, Kekaha Beach - the longest white sand beach in Hawaii, and to the east Salt Pond beach with a protected swimming area. Both beaches feature lifeguard stations.

Note on beaches: the Waimea River enters the ocean about a mile east of the property bringing silt from the canyon into the ocean. The currents pull the silt along the ocean in front of the beach. There are two swimmable beaches with lifeguard stations nearby. Kekaha Beach, is a 5-minute drive to the West. It is the longest white sand beach in Hawaii. It is wide and flat. To the east near Hanapepe Town is Salt Pond Beach. There is a lovely protected swimming area, picnic tables and restrooms.
