Beautifully situated amongst acres of rolling farmland, Whispering Dandelion Farm is a perfect place to decompress from the busyness of life. We are conveniently located just 6 miles from I65 between Louisville and Bowling Green.
Highland Cattle, Fainting Goats, Orpington Chickens, a Juliana Mini Pig, miniature horses, and a Great Pyrenees Puppy named Nora make up our critter crew. When you choose to stay at Whispering Dandelion Farm, you will have the opportunity to interact with all our animals. You will be able to feed them, brush them and pet them. Flint, our Highland Steer, will let you hug him and even kiss him if you would like to. Our miniature horses give you the opportunity for cart rides with Butterscotch and children under 75 pounds will be able to ride Ace. We also have a barrel cart that both children and most adults can enjoy. Barnyard games such as corn hole, Jumbo Connect Four and lassoing our sawhorse steers, Jimmy & Timmy will be available for your enjoyment as well.
The farm is located just a few miles from Historic Glendale, which gives you the opportunity to browse in the many antique shops as well as boutiques.
Glendale has 2 award winning restaurants for your enjoyment that bring patrons from miles away. Whistle Stop is a downhome style restaurant with amazing comfort food. Tony’s on Main is a bit more upscale, often offering live piano playing to add to the ambience. Both restaurants are great options for lunch or dinner. If you are looking for chain restaurants or more options, Elizabethtown is a short 20-minute drive and offers many restaurants.
If you would prefer to cook, you will have the choice of doing so inside or outside where a gas grill is provided. We have an outdoor dining set complete with a patio umbrella to shade you from the sun.
Looking for a peaceful getaway? You have found the right place. A private hot tub is purposely placed for watching the seemingly hand painted sunset on a horizon of rolling hills while often being able to watch the neighboring farm’s horses gallop across the field. We also have 2 lounge chairs that will allow you to get some sunshine while enjoying your favorite book or listening to music on a provided Bluetooth speaker.
Are you looking for a bit of exercise? You are about to book the perfect place. We have a small home gym complete with free weights, a stair stepper, elliptical and yoga equipment as well as a place for swimming that are all for your private use.
We totally understand that sometimes getaways are for business purposes and other times staying connected with the office, needing to work or do homework assignments is necessary. Wi-fi is available as well as a desk with a view for your enjoyment while you work. Be careful, the view can be quite distracting.
Whispering Dandelion Farm also has rainy days covered with a pool table that converts to a ping pong table, a Nostalgia Stick that is filled with too many retro style games to list, playing cards and board games.
If you are looking for more indoor activities to fill inclement days, Elizabethtown has plenty to offer such as a trampoline park, virtual reality at Towne Mall, and the Hardin County History Museum.
For those wanting to experience the outdoors away from the farm, we are less than an hour from Mammoth Cave National Park, Dinosaur World, Kentucky Kingdom, Beech Bend, Lincoln’s Birthplace, Nolin Lake, Churchill Downs, Saunders Springs, Freeman Lake, and Heartland Mini Golf. Those are just a small portion of what our area has to offer.
Leave your liquid toiletries at home. We provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We also provide a fully equipped kitchen with basic spices, and oil. If you need a blender just let us know and that can be provided as well.
Sanitary products are provided for women because we know that things can happen off schedule. Laundry detergent is also provided for your use in our front load washer and dryer set. An iron, ironing board and other items are also available upon request.
We can accommodate up to five adults and/or children & a baby as we have one amazingly comfortable queen-sized bed in a bedroom with a TV and dresser for your use.
We have a pack and play for babies & toddlers that also has a bassinet and changing area. Also available for use are a queen and a twin air mattress.
