Clover Dell Cottage was built in 1900, this 124 year home was a small cabin and over the years rooms were added, plumbing and electricity updated this cabin into the cottage it is today. Near by Mt. Mitchell, Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway. A/C is provided on a seasonal basis.There is no need for AWD or 4x4 drive to get to this location as it sits directly off of Jacks Creek Rd. Jacks Creek is a well know , scenic road used my motorist and cyclist alike.
Our family has launched a project under Clover Dell Farms to help our local, lower income families obtain low rent homes and ultimately realize the dream of homeownership. Just by choosing to stay with us, in Clover Dell, you have become an essential part of this initiative. All proceeds from Clover Dell Cottage go to help these families. Our family personally manages the Clover Dell rentals so that more funds are available.
With your help in keeping costs down, more funds are available to go towards this cause. Yancey County is largely rural, and housing is scarce. Property values are rising and pricing many local families out of the housing market. Along with the lack of affordable housing, weather can be harsh, and the homelessness is impacting local families and their ability to stay together. Clover Dell uses the proceeds from its short term rentals to go directly into purchasing low-income housing, renovation for a safe and warm dwelling in order to help these families navigate, financially, to own the home they move in to.
