Stratton's Log Cabin, nestled on hill top overlooking the Reedy River, in Simpsonville SC. Cabin is surrounded by Poplar and other hardwood trees giving it the feel of being in the mountains. Cabin was hand built 50 years ago by the original owner, Mr. Stratton, and was built entirely out of Oak logs that were harvested of the property. Large river rock fireplace measures 60 inches across. Relax on the comfy reclining couch snuggled up in front of a roaring fire, or sit on the huge covered back porch overlooking the Reedy River. If taking a nature walk is your thing, explore the 17 acres of wildlife and river front property. You're sure to spot some white tailed deer, wild turkey, raccoons, and many other creatures. When you're ready to retire for the evening, take a short walk upstairs to the super comfortable brand new king size plush mattress. Master bedroom also has a small reading nook with comfy armed chair. If you have kids or other guests, they can enjoy the second bedroom that has built in twin beds, also very comfy. Each room has a smart TV with Amazon, Netflix, and other channels to enjoy. The large bathroom is downstairs and has a oversized vanity, separate toilet / shower area, fully stocked with towels, wash cloths, hair dryer, etc. They're is also a laundry nook with stackable washer / dryer and everything you need to laundry your cloths if desired. If you enjoy cooking, help yourself to the nicely equipped kitchen, fully stocked with everything you need to cook a gourmet meal or just a quick snack. Kitchen has regular coffee maker, Keurig, crock pot, blender, microwave, pots, pans, utensils, huge selection of wine glasses, tumblers, etc. Coffee and creamer are provided. Also has Blackstone Grill on back deck. Groceries can be delivered through instacart and our local Publix Grocery store. Dine in the beautiful dining room that host a huge window overlooking the river and the great outdoors. Each guest will also enjoy a bottle of wine from our local winery, City Scape Winery (just a few miles down the road). City scape is a must see, showcasing great local wine, food, and seasonal events. Also just down the road is Happy Cow Creamery, another must see. Pick up your local Milk, Cheese, seasonal vegetables, visit the cows, and of course get some Ice Cream. Historic Hopkins Farm is only one mile away. There are several local parks with walking trails, hiking, and playgrounds for the kids. If you enjoy horseback riding, make sure and book a trail ride with Jerry at Black Horse Run, also just down the road. Downtown Simpsonville is just a short 5 mile drive with everything to offer. They have recently built several new restaurants, bars, breweries, ice cream station, etc to enjoy. You're not going to run short on activities or attractions that's for sure. If you like the bigger city feel, downtown Greenville is only about 20 minutes away. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, a girls or boys weekend, a great place to stay while visiting family, or just need some quiet time in the country, we would love to have you stay in our cabin.
