Positive: Cotswold View was perfect for us, equipped with everything we needed for our stay & it was less than a 10 minute walk into the centre of the village. We enjoyed the quiet of the location with the opportunity to have breakfast, read a book & watch the birds at the start of the day. As this faces East you have the sun shining on you. Beds were comfy, bathroom was large & we experienced no issues with hot water availability. The village has plenty of shops, restaurants, things to do & friendly people. We didn’t take our dog but most places seemed dog friendly. The Bird Park is a lovely way to spend a few hours & Hawkstone Brewery is a 30 minute walk on the opposite side of the village & worth investigating. We found plenty of things to do within 20 minutes drive & didn’t get chance to do everything. At the time of writing you can take dogs into the Cotswold wildlife park, apparently the only one in the UK that you can do this. We found plenty of places to eat & drink, you may want to book for food if there’s somewhere specific you want to go but can usually do this on the day in the summer, it’s a busy village & possible that you may need to book further in advance in winter when outside seating isn’t an option. The walk in to the village is via a country road, it’s typically 60 mph with no footpath. We’re used to this because we live in a rural area, drivers were courteous & we didn’t have any issues. We were there in the summer, if you go when days are shorter I’d recommend taking something reflective to wear & a torch to be safe. If you struggle with walking it might be worth driving instead of walking.

Negative: The hot water comes on at 5:20 & sounds like someone knocking on the window, if you’re a light sleeper it will wake you up if you’re in the bedroom next to the kitchen. We were there the week of the June heatwave, like everyone we struggled to sleep. If you go in the summer & have a portable fan or cooling system you may want to take it. I didn’t really notice the signs others have mentioned in reviews to much, I imagine the bathroom ones are to make sure people have seen them & act as a reminder as the consequences of them not being followed are unpleasant. I do agree that some could go into the welcome pack but they don’t detract.
