Positive: Very good location off the main road in town. Extremely good central heating. Excellent if you want to have a few days without being disturbed by friends/ work/ family/ anyone. Very personable host who was proactive in making contact to ensure we had entry instructions (although the need for that became apparent later) and an awareness of how the local parking worked. Well-appointed and provisioned bathroom and kitchen.
Negative: Data Access: Not only is there no WiFi (as in the property description), but there is also inferior mobile phone reception and mobile data coverage in the property. As a consequence, you need a hard copy / offline version of the entry instructions, as a mobile phone won’t work for data. The lack of data connection also means it Is impractical to use your mobile phone as a hotspot. Check-in and checkout: The entry instructions should be documented and supplied beforehand rather than requiring a telephone conversation. It would be useful to also have a sheet of instructions. These would detail which exterior bins to use, who puts the bins out, what day and what the arrangement is with the recycle bins. It seemed like most of the mixed bins were full of cardboard boxes. Facilities: As per an earlier review, there is an unreasonable amount of the owner's personal belongings in the property. The number of decorative items complicates window opening and flat surface usage. Space under the beds in both rooms is full, rendering it impossible for guests to store large items. Does a 2-bedroom flat really need 2 vacuum cleaners that take up all the storage under the second bedroom's single bed? Also in the second bedroom, 2 hair dryers take up what little drawer space there is. Hygiene: Thick dust under the single bed. There were 2 vacuum cleaners stored under the second bed; guests with respiratory issues may have trouble from the dust leaking from them. They should at least have been emptied. Single bed: Too soft with poor back support
