Adorable tiny A-frame nestled in a private lake community just off the scenic Foothills Parkway. Perfect retreat for couples to explore the raw beauty of the Smoky Mountains. Fish, swim, kayak or paddle board on our private lake (no motor boats allowed) - or just relax on the covered deck. Perfectly located for hiking, biking, and scenic drives. 40-60 min from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
**It has come to my attention that VRBO shows us as 6 to 8 miles from Cades Cove. This is not my doing! It's not necessarily untrue; you can hike there in 8 miles. But if you prefer the comfort of driving in a car, it will take you closer to 45 minutes. You must travel through the mountain pass to get there.**
Our community is peaceful and quiet, it is not a resort. The lake is private, members and guests only.
The space
Comfortable and nicely decorated little A- frame in a canopy of trees.
Things to note:
The spiral staircase is narrow which makes the home unsuitable for children. There are stairs on either side of the exterior - from the driveway and to the lake. Those with limited mobility may find them a challenge.
The bathroom is tiny, stand up shower, no tub. There is no laundry on the premises.
Guest access
You will have the whole house to yourself. Access to lake will be the use of our private dock, shared dock, or community "beach" area.
We live next door but don't worry, other than exchanging keys you may only see us is passing.
Other things to note
This is a real getaway, no fast food, cable tv, pizza delivery, or outlet malls. This is the way our family does vacations and we know others do too! There is not a landline! Check your cell service for coverage in the area. U.S. Cellular works best.
The house is under the canopy of a giant oak. When acorns hit the metal roof you will hear them. It's all part of the charm. ;)
While we are pet friendly, all pets must be disclosed. An additional pet fee applies. No puppies or aggressive dogs. ONE DOG ONLY.
