Positive: The location was the main up-side to this property, yet that wasn’t the primary reason for choosing the property. The advertised pictures presented spacious, modern apartments but this is not what we found. The pool area was also nice however given the cold weather at the time of our stay, it wasn’t a facility we got to enjoy - even though the information to residents & guests indicated the heating for the pool & spa has been turned on.
Negative: The unexpected poor level of cleanliness and comfort were inexcusable factors that should not be present in any guest accommodation. After what felt like an impossible “you’ve been punked” challenge to locate the room key from a separate venue, followed by the most illogically designed car park I’ve ever been in, entering the apartment to be greeted by a strong unpleasant scent really tipped the dissatisfaction scales. Could not locate anything obvious that was omitting the smell; we later concluded it was just an unfortunate feature of the room/level we were on. We had to purchase plug-in air fresheners to try and mask the air as the smell did not dissipate during our stay. While settling into the apartment, we discovered further cleanliness issues: rubbish left in the kitchen bin, extremely dirty mirrors with heavy smear marks all over them, as if they’d all been cleaned with a greasy cloth. Black sludge/mould in the showers - we also bought mould remover which easily eliminated it the issue. Broken furniture stored in the wardrobes rather than being removed; not only did this look tacky, it limited our storage space. There were multiple exposed holes in the walls of each room, from previous wall fixtures, that required repairing. However, for some bizarre reason, tissue has been stuffed into them instead. These things, along with the “cheap looking” worn furnishings did not give an overall impressive aesthetic. To top it off, we had problems with the reverse cycle air conditioners. No matter the mode or setting, the units would cut out around 10pm each night and would not function until 6am the next morning. Unsure if this is perhaps a power saving feature or maybe a body corporate policy for noise/energy reduction, however waking up to a freezing cold apartment each morning wasn’t ideal and certainly not something that was communicated.
