2nd floor jewel! This former artist's studio is in a still-to-be-remodeled old barn. You will be greeted by an abundance of natural light and a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains through the large picture window.
A cozy queen bedroom, quality bedding, full bath with large shower, plush towels, family style toiletries. Lovely full kitchen with counter eating area/4 stools, fully outfitted, Living Room with sofa and chair.
Coffee, teas, cocoa and basic condiments. The hardwood floor is bamboo. Original paintings line the wall, of course. Internet available, good cell reception.
This space is"Self-catering" as are the rest of the farm accommodations. Located on a 250 acre farm, South River Highlands, this studio has use of the fire-pit, large courtyard, meditation garden & the beautiful 65 ft pergola if their is no event scheduled.
The incredible modern day labyrinth is a highlight that you must be sure not to miss! 360 degree mountain range views reward the walk to the highest hilltop.
You won't be disappointed choosing to stay here! In addition to the absolutely gorgeous views and magical land are overnight accommodations to suit a variety of travelers. Authentic log cabins from c.1775 to early 1900's have been reconstructed with modern amenities and add-ons i.e. decks, bedrooms, kitchens etc. These cabins and land have privacy and stunning views of 2 mountain ranges on 250 acres of hay fields and forest above the Maury and South Rivers. A/C and heat. Truly magical!
In addition there are 2 guest suites within The Heartstone Lodge, a remodeled and re-purposed dairy barn, plus 3 modern comfortable studios adjacent to Lodge that are perfect for individuals attending retreats, couples, groups and family gatherings in addition to weddings and receptions. A beautiful 65 ft grapevine covered pergola with fish pond fountain, meditation garden, fire-pit and lots of nooks with cozy spaces to relax.
Each of the cabins have been brought to this land from other places in Virginia and what is now called West Virginia. Loving care was given to each unique cabin as more modern additions were added. Attention was given to adding top quality, very comfortable bedding plus totally outfitting each accommodation with family style bath toiletries, coffee/tea/cocoa, dishes, kitchenware and everything you could need for a several day to one month stay here.
This is a nature preserve and a place of restoration, where joy, happiness and appreciation of the natural environment comes naturally and easily. There is no wi-fi though cell phone service is rarely a problem. Each cabin, each studio and the guest rooms in The Lodge are totally unique. Something for everybody. You'll leave here at peace with life and be planning your return.
