Summary: We have family in Sale and stay here when we visit for family events. This time our experience was more mixed, the biggest factor being allocated room 104. This is one of the worst hotel rooms we’ve ever stayed in, it’s extremely small and the windows are opaque - presumably because the view would be the bins at the back. The windows don’t open and overall we felt quite claustrophobic and therefore spent as little time as possible in the room. We were offered a different room for our last night but that seemed pointless. Given we made this booking 4 months ago, where there was still good availability at the hotel, it was disappointing to have been allocated what must be their worst room. Breakfasts were as always superb and the staff pleasant, though not such engaging customer service as under the previous management. Although the hotel has a bar, we discovered it now closes early (by 9pm on the Sunday we were there when we arrived with family to have drinks to discover the bar and restaurant locked up and no staff in the hotel!) Would now consider staying elsewhere for any future visits.
