Summary: I was shocked when I entered Room 541. The smell was foul, musty. The carpet was ripped up & old. The ceiling in the bedroom leaked when it rained & had mold all over it. The fan in the bathroom made a God awful noise when turned on. The volume wouldn’t go up on the tv. The staff, minus one person, was rude & unhelpful. We had to wait almost an hour just to be booked in & everyone in line ahead of us was complaining about different things. Lightning hit the elevator so it was down for almost an entire day. The parking was outstandingly bad. The manager yelled at my husband for parking in front of the office, but there was nowhere else to park. They had an underground parking garage but had it closed off. Our room needed renovations badly. The entire hotel does. Being that it was so cheap, we sucked it up & had a good time. If it weren’t for the beautiful ocean, we would’ve wanted our money back. Sadly, we will never book at Bar Harbor again.
