Positive: The location was good as it is about 12 minutes walk to the old Town Centre and there are cafes, shops, supermarkets, and a metro nearby. The apartment is reasonably spacious for NO MORE than four persons, clean and there’s a lot of storage in the property. Good WiFi. The kitchen is reasonably equipped and has a dishwasher and washing machine. Though there is a toaster, there is no kettle in the property which maybe problematic for tea drinkers. I should say the mop was rusty and useless, but that does not mark them down on cleanliness. The property is in an estate of blocks of flats and the concierge staff were helpful. There are bike rental shops nearby and in the old Town centre. Ruzafa bike rental in the old town (Carrer de quart 48) by Torres de quart was the cheapest we found. You can rent a push bike for €45 a week and there are bike racks outside the property for your bike, but remember to lock your bike. You can also store your luggage at Ruzafa bike rental shop for €4 per day and this can be very helpful.

Negative: It is a three bedroom flat and two of the rooms do not have air conditioning and the temperature in late July and August is consistently above 30 Celsius. The living room and the master bedroom have air conditioning. This means the two rooms without have to open their doors to allow cool air from the living room, impacting on their privacy. The electricity trips off regularly when using the AC and the induction hob (cooking), especially in the evenings. Though annoying, it is not a big issue as all you do is open the fuse box by the door and push down the button (General), wait a few seconds and push back up. I am not marking the property down on this, as it may well be beyond their control. Poor communication. We asked the host prior to arrival if we could check in early. A negative response arrived 3 days later whilst we were airborne stating that we could not check in before 4pm. On arrival, we asked if we could leave our bags to return 4pm. The host first texted there was another guest in the property and a few minutes later texted that the property was being cleaned and a few minutes later texted that the keys were programmed to work from 4pm. These were unnecessary lies. The keys to the flat were two manual keys. One to unlock the main door to the block and the other to enter the flat. They were not key cards or programmed locks. Despite providing the host with copies of our passports at their request on arrival to Valencia using the link provided, we noticed that the male that accompanied the host (female) was videoing us without our consent when we arrived at the property. You cannot video or photograph a guest without their consent, and videoing guests was not part of the terms and conditions, which was sent after we’ve paid and arrived at the property. Because of this unnecessary action, we spent some time looking for hidden cameras and found none. The host certainly needs some training in communication and respect for guests’ privacy.

Summary: It is a reasonable property for the price but you can get a better property for less.
