Situated in a quiet location, just 1 mile from a sandy beach, Cirl Cottage is in a perfect spot for visiting the many wonderful places in South Devon. As its name suggests, if you are lucky you will spot a cirl bunting, not seen in many places. This semi-detached cottage is situated close to the owners’ post office/grocery store and has a small patio area ideal for al fresco dining. From the first floor there are lovely views across the Devon hills.
Galmpton Creek which is a lovely walk is also close by. Take a ride into Dartmouth on the steam train, only ½ mile away, where you can see the castle, visit the shops, or take a look at the Naval College. Brixham with its harbour is also close by. Visit the nature reserve or go swimming in the outdoor Art Deco pool. Paignton is 3 miles away with a cinema complex, and throughout the summer there are many events on Paignton Green. Why not stroll along the pier, or have a dip in the sea from the nice sandy beach? Torquay and Dartmoor are also just a short car ride. There are many National Trust properties nearby including Agatha Christie’s summer home, Greenway, and Coleton Fishacre and gardens, once the home of Gilbert and Sullivan. This is the ideal location for birdwatchers, sailing, cycling and many other activities. Beach 1 mile. Shop 20 yards, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
