Summary: The location is perfect, and the staff are exceptional. The food was also outstanding. In fact, it was the best food I had during my stay in Edinburgh, and better than what I experienced at several other hotels I visited at during the trip. There are, however, two things that could be improved. First, there is no air conditioning. Given that the room can become quite warm, this made sleeping uncomfortable during our three-night stay. Of course, you can open the balcony door, but that brings me to the second issue: the balconies are effectively accessible from the neighbouring rooms, which means you cannot comfortably leave the balcony door open for security and privacy reasons.
